Q: For people discovering you for the first time, who is Renze, and how would you describe your music?
A: I make emo, hip-hop, and alternative music. The sound is emotional and melodic, but it’s also existential. A lot of my music comes from questioning life, purpose, love, and growth. I try to make music that feels honest so people can connect to it on a deeper level instead of just hearing it.
Q: What inspires the emotional and existential themes in your music?
A: Real life. Experiences, relationships, responsibility, and trying to understand where you fit in the world. I think everyone goes through moments where they question things, and music became the way I express that. Melody helps carry emotion in a way that words alone sometimes can’t.
Q: You’re originally from Atlanta. How did that influence your sound?
A: Atlanta has a huge influence on rhythm and energy, and growing up around that definitely shaped how I approach music. But I also wanted to push into something more introspective. So it’s a mix of Atlanta’s influence with alternative and emotional elements that make it personal to me.
Q: Tell us about your upcoming album Legendary.
A: Legendary is a 10-track album releasing April 11, 2026. The project is about endurance, growth, and leaving something meaningful behind. It’s emotional but also about strength — learning from everything you go through and turning it into something lasting.
Q: The release date has personal meaning for you, correct?
A: Yes. The album drops on the second birthday of my fifth child and fourth son, (מַרִיקוֹ), which is Hebrew for Marico. That made the project feel bigger than just music. It’s about legacy, family, and becoming better as a person and as an artist.
Q: What do you want listeners to feel when they hear Legendary?
A: I want them to feel understood. Like they’re not alone in whatever they’re dealing with. The goal is for people to hear the music and feel something real.
Q: What’s next for Renze after this release?
A: This year, I’m expanding creatively beyond music and stepping into my first film project. It’s part of a bigger vision of storytelling through different mediums while continuing to develop my sound and artistic direction.
