London’s own debbiesthuglife (Debbie Ijaduola) has been shaking up the underground with her chaotic, playful, and unapologetically high-energy sets. Now, she’s making waves globally with her debut EP, JELLYFISH, a project that fuses Baltimore club heat, frenetic drum and bass, glitchy textures, and even her own warped vocals into a sound that’s as fluid as it is unpredictable.
Once known for wild SoundCloud edits and genre-bending NTS radio mixes, Debbie has evolved her DIY ethos into a statement project. Tracks like “FLOAT” drift in dreamlike layers, while “MEDUSA PHASE” and the title track hit with filthy breaks and bass that feel tailor-made for warehouse chaos. She’s not afraid of humor either, one track even sneaks in a Homer Simpson scream.
Critics are taking note: JELLYFISH has earned acclaim from EARMILK, Metal Magazine, and BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar, while co-signs from artists like Doja Cat, Zack Fox, ATRIP, and Denzel Curry hint at her growing cultural reach. Beyond music, she’s cultivating community through her NTS residency, YouTube series, and brand collabs with Nike, Levi’s and Ray-Ban.
In her own words, JELLYFISH is about duality: soft but stinging, beautiful but dangerous. That ethos defines debbiesthuglife herself: a rising force making the club world less predictable, and a lot more fun.
