Early Life and Background

Born and raised in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten, Kollah Bone was brought up by his great-aunts in a deeply religious household. His early life revolved around the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was introduced to gospel music — the first spark in what would become a lifelong relationship with sound. At just five years old, he was already absorbing the essence of hip-hop through his older sister’s music collection.

Kollah Bone’s signature sound is a rich blend of Caribbean rhythms, American trap, and melodic rap. With roots in West Indian culture, his lyrics are infused with island slang, raw storytelling, and heavy 808s. Influences like 2Pac, DMX, and Lil Wayne shaped his lyrical focus on loyalty, struggle, ambition, and perseverance.

Kollah Bone’s foray into music production began in his teenage years after discovering Fruity Loops Studio (FL Studio) through a cousin. His production credits include work with:

– Daz Dillinger

Kollah Bone came close to a major label deal in 2006 with Def Jam Records, but it was derailed following the tragic passing of executive Shakir Stewart. In 2014, he was offered a $10,000 development deal with Cash Money Records, which he declined due to contractual issues. He later relocated to North Miami Beach, immersing himself in the Southern hip-hop scene and collaborating with names like Future, Ace Hood, Trina, Mavado, and Cool & Dre.

Founding of Omnitune Records

In 2024, Kollah Bone launched Omnitune Records, an independent Caribbean-trap label based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. As CEO, he is involved in artist development, audio engineering, songwriting, and visual direction. The label’s mission is to amplify Caribbean-rooted talent and bridge cultural and musical genres between the islands and Europe.
